Meet your new mindset coach

I’m Mariana Ortega, an ICF-accredited coach and first-generation professional with 20+ years of experience leading corporate learning and talent development. I help people develop the leadership mindset that allows them to navigate themselves and others through difficult transitions with clarity of core values, curiosity and courage.

I work with leaders from all levels at Fortune-500 companies through partner programs, and directly with C-suite teams, senior executives, and high-potential talent at emerging and mid-sized firms.

Who are “first-generation professionals”?

First-generation professionals are the first in their working-class families to graduate college and enter the corporate world. We’re everywhere, across every industry, often among the most driven and resilient contributors in today’s workforce.

As a first-generation professional, I had to figure out the unwritten rules of corporate culture on my own, in real time. I didn't have a roadmap, so I built one — and now I help other people figure out what theirs look like through the lens of their core values.

I help you with the part of leadership nobody prepared you for.

Having lived the first-gen experience firsthand, I’m all-too-familiar with the persistent narratives, limiting beliefs, and disempowering patterns that often manifest when you’re the first in your family to level up in education and income.
